Today was an exciting day. Today I got initiated into my sorority, and I couldn’t be any happier. Today is also my mother’s birthday. She would have been 46, but she died when almost 7 years ago. It’s been on my mind all day, with all the distractions, but I almost feel lucky that I was able to become officially apart of something that I am passionate about, Delta Zeta sorority, on the same day as my mother’s birthday. It’s almost a way for us to be connected even when she’s not there physically. Bittersweet day
